Grindr‘s much-hyped AI product is finally here, and she’s not a cheap date!
The company, which is trying to shed its long-time identity as a hookup app, is testing EDGE, a new premium tier. In recent years, the company has faced criticism from users for pushing expensive subscriptions at the cost of its free version. Critics say that basic functionality, such as chatting without popup ads and viewing “taps,” is now a privileged experience.
Currently, Grindr’s most expensive tier, Unlimited, costs between $27.99 and $44.99 per month.
EDGE is much, much more. On social media, people are posting screenshots of offers to sign up for EDGE. The fee is $349.99 per month!
